------------------------------------------------------------------------
Opens:

Arpad may not be able to call in for the meeting next week.
- Michael M may be able chair, not sure

Arpad asked for feedback on the meeting last week:
- There may be long term but not short term connections between IBIS and CMC
- Randy: We should not stall our current work
- Walter: We will be done before them and can present our work to them
  - They can come up with equivalent elements
  - It must be possible to translate back and forth
- Arpad: They seem to be going down the IC path currently
- Brad: They seem to be looking at the language, not the content

Michael M suggested setting a timeline for our open items
- Walter:
  - IbisIS - This may be done by end of summer or early fall
    - Some time in June we should have a reasonable document
    - We need to get a few more DOC files from Synopsys
    - Task: Go through edited DOC file (4 wks from 4/21)
    - Task: Add boiler plate (why, etc...)
    - Task: Editorial review (couple of months ???)
    - Target IBIS Summit at DAC for introducing the draft (end of July)
  - EMD would be next
  - Touchstone:
    - Touchstone ports info (1-3 months)
    - Touchstone sparse matrix format (1 month)
    - These can be independent of us
    - The ad-hoc interconnect group can do it
    - Radek: These may be underestimating
  - AMI improvements
    - Working to solve non-LTI issues (3 months)
AMI improvements (BIRD 107 caused AMI to be LTI only, 3 months)
- Arpad: We need a detailed timeline for the document we are working on
  - Walter: It depends on feedback received
  - Michael M: What are the tasks?
  - Walter:
    - Need to get 1 or 2 .doc files from Synopsys
    - Repeat edit process on those
    - Need to accept/reject the changes
    - Add boilerplate
  - Mike L: We should allow time for editorial review
    - Randy: That could stretch out over a long time.

--------------------------
Call for patent disclosure:

- No one declared a patent.

-------------
Review of ARs:

- Todd: Write IBIS s-param BIRD
  - Still working on it
  - It may be done in 2 weeks or so

- Arpad: Write parameter passing syntax proposal (BIRD draft)
for *-AMS models in IBIS that is consistent with the
parameter passing syntax of the AMI models
          - TBD

- TBD: Propose a parameter passing syntax for the SPICE
          - [External ...] also?
          - TBD

- Arpad: Review the documentation (annotation) in the macro libraries.
          - Deferred until a demand arises or we have nothing else to do

-------------
New Discussion:

Arpad: Can we have something ready for the DAC summit in July?
- Randy: We should be able to do that
- Walter: The boilerplate may not be ready
  - That may be important to have though
  - The reference manual part is simple

Walter showed the IbisIS document:
- Walter has worked on 4 documents from Synopsys so far
  - Could not find the T element in the documents we have
  - Most of the content has been deleted
  - Would prefer not to go through the deleted content during meetings
- Arpad: The W element seems to be in 2 places
  - Walter: Yes, we have to figure out the differences
- Not much was deleted from the S element
- Arpad: It looks like W element still has the RLGCFILE param
  - We agreed to drop this
  - Walter: Will have to check on this
- The only independent source retained was the shunt element
- Arpad: CCVS vn1 has plural "sources"
  - Arpad: We should allow only one controlling source
  - Walter: Need to understand why these are needed
- Mike L: What will we do about unresolved references?
  - Arpad: Some of these point to the same file
  - It may be only necessary to regenerate the references

Arpad: How will the work be assigned?
- If we ask people to send comments to Walter it may not be thoroughly reviewed
- Walter: We do not have the general rules or SUBCKT.
  - We have:
    - Simple Linear elements
    - Dependent Sources
    - W element
    - S element
  - Mike L can look at Dependent Sources
  - Randy: Has read the documents and has comments

Randy showed his IbisIS review comments:
- Examples should be included
  - Walter: They take up a lot of space and were deleted
  - Often they used features we do not support
- Can capacitors have expression parameters?
- Walter: We can drop the F element
  - Mike L: Aren't these used for coupling in some connector models?
  - We will keep them
- Should we support Y matrix data?
  - We should support whatever Touchstone supports
- Improve formatting text 'str' under Touchstone
  - Some confusion over this
- Should we support Lgnd, Rognd, Rsgnd?

AR: Walter send IbisIS documents to list (with Randy's email)
AR: Mike L update Dependent Sources document

Not sure about logistics for the next meeting.

Next meeting: 28 April 2009 12:00pm PT
